Basketball Game Preview: Corydon Central Panthers vs. Austin Eagles + How To Watch

Corydon Central is 8-2 against Austin since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Panthers will challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Corydon Central has four straight victories, Austin has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Corydon Central didn't have too much trouble with Madison as they won 72-53.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corydon Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grant Lindemann, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Lindemann is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 44% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Jack Fessel was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 15 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Corydon Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Austin came up short against Henryville on Friday and fell 64-52. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hornets 14-6 in the first quarter.

Corydon Central's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Corydon Central took their victory against Austin when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 56-30 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
