Basketball Game Preview: Mooreland Bearcats vs. Merritt Oilers

The Mooreland Bearcats will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Merritt Oilers at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Mooreland was beaten by Shattuck 64-35. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Merritt came up short against Canute on Friday and fell 49-36. The Oilers have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Mooreland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Merritt, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Mooreland came up short against Merritt when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 50-39. Can Mooreland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
