Basketball Game Preview: Decatur Bulldogs vs. Woodward Academy War Eagles

The Decatur Bulldogs will challenge the Woodward Academy War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Decatur has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Woodward Academy will arrive with ten straight wins.

Decatur came up short against Shiloh on Friday, falling 40-19.

Bailey Butler was Decatur's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Ryan Elmahdi held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. Nadiya Mohamed took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with five assists.

Meanwhile, Woodward Academy didn't have too much trouble with Tri-Cities on Monday as they won 58-42.

Woodward Academy pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Decatur, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.

Decatur took a serious blow against Woodward Academy when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-31. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Decatur was down 33-11.
