Sparrows Point had won six straight home games dating back to last season and Mikey Maynor did his part to make it seven on Thursday. The Pointers took down the Towson Generals 20-6 for which the team can thank Maynor, who rushed for 131 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 78 yards.

Sparrows Point's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Towson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Sparrows Point will face off against Surrattsville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Towson, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Overlea on Friday.
