Volleyball Recap: Geneseo Extends Winning Streak to Five

Geneseo had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Keshequa Indians. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Indians two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Geneseo was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-18, 19-25, 25-18.

Geneseo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ganelli Rodriguez led the charge by getting nine digs and one assist.

Geneseo was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 15 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Geneseo's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Keshequa, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneseo will venture away from home to challenge Caledonia-Mumford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Keshequa, they will head out to take on Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
