Baseball Recap: Lincolnwood Triumphs

While Lincolnwood's win against Carlinville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Lincolnwood's pitcher stepped up to hand Carlinville a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Brodey VanHooser's shutout, as he gave up just five hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Lincolnwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Pope, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lincolnwood's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Carlinville, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
