Basketball Recap: Parkway South Comes Up Short

If Parkway South was riding high fresh off their 73-32 takedown of Northwest last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Parkway South Patriots took a 72-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jennings Warriors on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Patriots came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Warriors are ranked 279th).

Despite the loss, Parkway South still got an impressive performance from Noah Barnes, who went 11-for-22 to rack up 36 points. The match was Barnes' fourth in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Sidwell, who posted 12 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.

Parkway South's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 16-5. As for Jennings, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkway South will square off against Kirkwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jennings, they will take on Hazelwood Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
