Softball Game Preview: Castaic Coyotes vs. Canyon Cowboys

Castaic is 0-7 against Canyon since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Coyotes will be playing at home against the Cowboys at 3:15 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Castaic's offense. They lost 10-0 to Hart on Tuesday. The Coyotes' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Castaic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lulu Smith, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Canyon also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 5-0 to Valencia on Tuesday.

Castaic's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Canyon, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Castaic's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. The Coyotes have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Canyon, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Castaic continue to outrun the ball?
