St. Laurence had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the St. Rita Mustangs. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

St. Laurence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-23, 25-18.

St. Laurence found their leader in sophomore Paul Rzadkosz, who had six digs and four aces.

St. Laurence's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-8. As for St. Rita, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Laurence will head out to challenge Hinsdale South at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Rita, they will venture away from home to square off against St. Patrick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
