Softball Recap: Heritage Patriots vs. Norwell Knights
Heritage put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Norwell Knights with a sharp 15-4 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Heritage as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Danica Fuller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On Norwell's side, Leah Werling made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Jordan Markley was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Heritage's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Norwell, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Adams Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Adams Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Heritage surely won't give up without a fight. As for Norwell, they will stay at home for another game and welcome DeKalb at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. DeKalb is coming into the game with three straight losses on the road, meaning Norwell will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
