Basketball Recap: Rockland Falls Short of Challis in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Rockland couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Challis Vikings by a score of 52-49 on Friday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 51-32.

Challis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Sheppard out in front who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Sheppard a new career-high in rebounds. Teage Erickson was another key player, putting up ten points.

Rockland's defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Challis, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-11.

Rockland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-60 win against Garden Valley on the 8th. As for Challis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-36 loss against Dietrich on the 8th.
