Football Recap: Bloomingdale Bulls vs. Bartow Yellow Jackets
Bloomingdale had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-3 to make it five. They took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bartow Yellow Jackets. The Bulls were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Sammy Zelaya threw for 98 yards and one touchdown. Dexter Snyder was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Preston Beckham rushed for 104 yards on only 14 carries.
As for Bartow, the win got them back to even at 3-3. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their six-point performance the contest before.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bartow to victory, but perhaps none more so than Major McBath, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one score. McBath's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Jakobie Terry did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 92 receiving yards.
Bloomingdale wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 28-15 loss against Berkeley Prep on the 3rd. As for Bartow, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-6 defeat against Lake Gibson on the 3rd.
