Baseball Game Preview: Christian Fellowship Eagles vs. St. Mary Vikings

The Christian Fellowship Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Mary Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Christian Fellowship will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Thursday, then bounced right back against Fulton City on Tuesday. Christian Fellowship's pitchers stepped up to hand Fulton City a 14-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Meanwhile, St. Mary is still undefeated this season after their game against Calloway County on Friday, but Calloway County came as close as anyone has to beating them. St. Mary sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Calloway County. The three-run effort marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

St. Mary saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Haas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. That's the most hits Haas has posted since back in April of 2024.

St. Mary pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Christian Fellowship, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Christian Fellowship suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to St. Mary when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can Christian Fellowship avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
