Basketball Recap: Roane County Drops Season-High Score on Webster County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roane County). They enjoyed a cozy 66-49 win over the Webster County Highlanders on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Roane County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cam Cumpston, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Cumpston a new career-high in assists (eight). Another player making a difference was Will Odle, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds.

Roane County was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Roane County's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Webster County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roane County will square off against Clay County at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Webster County, they will challenge Gilmer County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Webster County is facing Gilmer County at the right time seeing as Gilmer County is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
