Basketball Game Preview: Chilton Tigers vs. Brillion Lions

The Chilton Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Brillion Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chilton has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 16.

On Tuesday, Chilton came up short against Sheboygan Falls and fell 46-36. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Falcons are ranked 159th).

Meanwhile, Brillion made easy work of New Holstein on Tuesday and carried off a 64-38 win. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Chilton better keep an eye on Amaya Brooks. She was instrumental in Brillion's win, shooting 4-for-4 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. With that strong performance, Brooks is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Kaitlyn Schuman was another key player, putting up 15 points and six boards.

Chilton's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Brillion, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Chilton couldn't quite get it done against Brillion when the teams last played back in January as they fell 41-30. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
