Soccer Recap: Golden Gate's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games

Golden Gate's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Aubrey Rogers Patriots by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Golden Gate came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Aubrey Rogers are ranked 257th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Golden Gate fell to 7-1-1. As for Aubrey Rogers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Golden Gate will take on Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aubrey Rogers and Canterbury will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
