Softball Game Preview: Eastern Montgomery Mustangs vs. Highland Rams

The Eastern Montgomery Mustangs will face off against the Highland Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Montgomery is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

Eastern Montgomery is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering George Wythe just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Maroons, falling 11-4.

Macie Akers made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Highland had just enough and edged out Bath County 12-11 on Thursday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Eastern Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Eastern Montgomery got the 'W' in their previous meeting two weeks ago against Highland by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
