Basketball Game Preview: Big Walnut Golden Eagles vs. Briggs Bruins

The Big Walnut Golden Eagles will face off against the Briggs Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Big Walnut is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since January 17th on Friday. They fell just short of Westland by a score of 64-62. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Eagles came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Cougars are ranked 383rd).

Meanwhile, Briggs was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Mifflin, falling 64-44. The Bruins were down 49-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

This is the second loss in a row for Big Walnut and nudges their season record down to 13-9. As for Briggs, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.
