Waubonsie Valley hasn't had much luck against Naperville Central recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Warriors will head out to square off against the Redhawks at 4:30 p.m.

On Monday, Waubonsie Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Naperville North and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Naperville Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Metea Valley on Monday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Redhawks considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Avery Miller spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Naperville Central got a massive performance out of Riley Silvers, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Silvers has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey Williams, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one RBI.

Naperville Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Waubonsie Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
