Basketball Recap: Riverview Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Riverview Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 49-43 to the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks on Monday.

Bryce Welch was nothing short of spectacular for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool: he dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Welch a new career-high in steals (eight). Chris Berg was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Riverview Academy has already played their next matchup, a 57-47 loss against Universal Academy on the 20th. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-37 defeat against New Jerusalem Christian Academy on the 18th.
