Softball Recap: Marysville Takes a Loss

Marysville had lost seven straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-16 to make it eight. They lost 23-2 to the Wheatland Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-4 on Monday.

Emma Mallen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Wheatland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.5 runs.

On Wheatland's side, Raelynn Hulsey was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Ella Woolery was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Marysville will square off against rival Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Wheatland is set to face off against their familiar foe Bear River at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
