Last Tuesday, Mercedes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Donna. The win was just what Mercedes needed coming off of a 10-0 loss in their prior match.
Jacob Villareal made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks). Villareal was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
