Tiara Hyles made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up seven earned runs off four hits. Hyles was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Alyssa Strohl and Anne Matheson did most of the damage at the plate: Strohl got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Matheson went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two doubles gave Strohl a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Kacir, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
L'Anse Creuse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
New Haven's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for L'Anse Creuse, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
