Softball Recap: Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes vs. Heritage Academy Heroes
Arizona Lutheran Academy extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping their season record down to 7-11 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Heritage Academy Heroes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Heroes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.
Arizona Lutheran Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Peltzer, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
As for Heritage Academy, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.
On Heritage Academy's side, Sieana Soltero made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Soltero was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
In other batting news, Savana Soltero was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Gloriann Blanco was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Coming up, Arizona Lutheran Academy will venture away from home to square off against Benson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Coyotes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season. Heritage Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
