Softball Recap: Valley View Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Valley View won the last time they faced Chino Hills and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Valley View Eagles walked away with a 6-1 win over the Chino Hills Huskies.

Bella Hernandez tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Miranda Maese and Maddie Barrios did most of the damage at the plate: Maese went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Barrios went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Hailey Ramirez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Valley View's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chino Hills, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley View will face off against Beaumont at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Valley View's pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so Beaumont's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Chino Hills will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Los Alamitos at 3:15 p.m. on April 2nd.
