Bellevue West lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lincoln Southeast, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. Bellevue West was the clear victor by a 16-6 margin over Lincoln Southeast on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Thunderbirds, who have now won three matches in a row.

Aiden Ensor was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Zack Pinneo was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Bellevue West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Omaha North and Bellevue East meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. Omaha North fell 10-7 to Bellevue East.
Omaha North saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor O'Neill, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. O'Neill also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another was Colin Kinman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Omaha North's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bellevue West, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bellevue West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Omaha North struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
