Recap: Bellflower Buccaneers vs. Palmdale Falcons
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Bellflower Buccaneers can now relate to. They fell just short of Palmdale by a score of 40-38. Bellflower's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Several Buccaneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Akida Warmsley Jr, who rushed for 34 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 90 yards and two touchdowns on only four passes. Robert Morrow was another key contributor, rushing for 127 yards on only 15 carries.
Clifton Chalk was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Joseph Mason, who rushed for seven yards and a touchdown.
Bellflower's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Palmdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Bellflower does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palmdale will head out on the road to face off against Ramona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
