Volleyball Recap: Addie Roberson Key Part of Team Effort in Tritons Win

Pacifica Christian hadn't done well against Capistrano Valley Christian recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tritons blew past the Eagles 3-0. This was payback for the Tritons, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Pacifica Christian was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-18.

Pacifica Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Roberson, who had 20 digs and two aces. Those 20 digs gave Roberson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Heal, who had 16 digs and five assists.

Despite the loss, Capistrano Valley Christian still got an impressive performance from Joy Carney, who had 26 digs and one assist. Carney is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Megan Keena, who had ten assists and six digs.

Pacifica Christian's record now sits at 11-7. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pacifica Christian will challenge rival Southlands Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Capistrano Valley Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Western Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
