Softball Recap: Upper Sandusky Comes Up Short

Upper Sandusky made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mohawk, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Rams fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Kenslee Swavel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Upper Sandusky saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Wengerd, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Upper Sandusky's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Mohawk, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Upper Sandusky will square off against Wynford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mohawk, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Carey at 5:00 p.m. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
