Basketball Recap: North Miami Comes Up Short

North Miami lost against Tippecanoe Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The North Miami Warriors took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while the Vikings are ranked 96th).

Tippecanoe Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ian Cooksey led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. Those nine boards gave Cooksey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Stephen Akase, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

North Miami has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Tippecanoe Valley, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Looking ahead, North Miami will take on Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Triton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something North Miami surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will welcome Jimtown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jimtown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.
