Basketball Recap: Aynor Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Robinson Mendez and Jamarion Mitchell

Aynor was the 63-47 winner over Green Sea Floyds when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Aynor Blue Jackets came up short against the Green Sea Floyds Trojans on Wednesday, falling 61-40.

Jamarion Mitchell and Robinson Mendez certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Mitchell went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points and three steals, while Mendez posted seven points in addition to 11 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Dukes, who put up five points.

Aynor dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Green Sea Floyds, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Aynor won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Marlboro County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Green Sea Floyds, they will challenge Carvers Bay at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
