Mt. Carmel had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Metairie Park Country Day Cajuns. This was payback for the Cubs, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mt. Carmel got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The final score came out to 31-29, 14-25, 25-21, 25-17.

Lila Franovich paced Mt. Carmel's offense, picking up 25 kills. Franovich got some help from Sarah Clement and her 44 assists. Finally, Gabrielle Locascio kept Mt. Carmel's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will face off against Northshore at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Metairie Park Country Day, they will square off against Willow at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
