Homewood took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers, posting a 51-7 win. With the Patriots ahead 37-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Kaleb Carson was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 228 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 39 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Davis Griffin, who gained 128 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Homewood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Homewood has already played their next matchup, a 27-0 victory against Briarwood Christian on the 29th. As for John Carroll Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 49-28 loss against St. Michael Catholic on the 29th.
