Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Vikings vs. West Liberty-Salem Tigers

The River Valley Vikings will face off against the West Liberty-Salem Tigers at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. River Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully West Liberty-Salem likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, River Valley earned a 56-48 win over Pleasant. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Spartans are ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led West Liberty-Salem over West Jefferson in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. West Liberty-Salem came out on top against West Jefferson by a score of 38-27.

River Valley pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.1 points per game. As for West Liberty-Salem, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
