After each having a week off, the Portland Panthers and the Davidson Academy Bears will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Portland has three straight wins, Davidson Academy has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Portland is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest last Friday with ease, bagging a 48-0 victory over Hunters Lane. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Warriors are ranked 303rd).

Nyswonger was just one part of a punishing run game: Portland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Davidson Academy had taken Battle Ground Academy down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end last Friday. The Bears were dealt a 55-10 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. The matchup marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Portland's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Davidson Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
