Baseball Recap: San Marino Starts off Right with Win over Providence

San Marino gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Providence Pioneers 8-2. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

JJ Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Wilson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tom?s Bilvado, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Bilvado a new career-high. Another was Parker Wilson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

San Marino didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-1 win against Flintridge Prep on the 21st. As for Providence, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-5 loss against Hoover on the 22nd.
