Baseball Recap: Dixie Heights Comes Up Short

After flying high against Holy Cross on Thursday, Dixie Heights came back down to earth. Dixie Heights fell just short of Covington Catholic by a score of 6-4 on Friday. Dixie Heights was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Covington Catholic earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Owen Caudill was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Sean Mitchell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Dixie Heights' loss dropped their record down to 18-18. As for Covington Catholic, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-11.

As of now, neither Dixie Heights nor Covington Catholic have any future games scheduled.
