Basketball Recap: Bethel Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Bethel didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Riverside Pirates on Thursday as the Bethel Bees made off with a 53-29 victory. Given the Bees' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Pirates are ranked 548th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kenna Johnson, who posted eight points and three steals. Johnson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Robinson, who had seven points.

The win was the fourth in a row for Bethel, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. As for Riverside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Bethel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 39-35 victory against Miami East on the 4th. As for Riverside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-37 loss against Covington on the 4th.
