Baseball Recap: Wilbraham & Monson Academy Titans vs. Suffield Academy Tigers

Wilbraham & Monson Academy extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They lost 27-0 to the Suffield Academy Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 last Wednesday.

As for Suffield Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4. That looming 27-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Suffield Academy's part, Charlie Gamere looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Gamere has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Suffield Academy got a massive performance out of Chase Beloin, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Beloin has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joe Banks, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI.
