Softball Game Preview: Quincy Trojans vs. Williams Yellowjackets

Quincy has gone a perfect 5-0 against Williams recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Trojans will host the Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. Quincy is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.

On Wednesday, Quincy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Hamilton. That's two games straight that the Trojans have won by just one run.

Jemma Trueblood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Megan Beatley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Wade, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Williams fell victim to Portola and their airtight pitching crew last Tuesday. They lost 25-0 to the Tigers. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Williams' defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Quincy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2-1.

Everything went Quincy's way against Williams when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Quincy made off with an 11-0 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
