Softball Recap: Ansonia Falls to Eaton in First Game of Season

Ansonia unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Eaton Eagles on Tuesday, falling 13-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Avalyn Locke made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

Even though they lost, Ansonia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eaton only posted a batting average of .207.

Ansonia has already played their next match, a 7-5 loss against Covington on the 27th. As for Eaton, they will square off against Crescent at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
