Softball Game Preview: Willamina Bulldogs vs. Douglas Trojans

The Willamina Bulldogs will take on the Douglas Trojans at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Willamina gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Philomath 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 12, 2024.

Meanwhile, Douglas won against Hoopa Valley on Monday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Everything went Douglas' way against Amity as Douglas made off with a 16-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Harlee Agee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Serena Mandera was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Mandera is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Maddison Walker was another key player, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
