Baseball Recap: Matanzas Comes Up Short

Matanzas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 13-3 to the Interlachen Rams. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 12-0.

Matanzas saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alonso Quintana, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another was Wiley Connor, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Matanzas' record is now 1-16. As for Interlachen, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Matanzas will challenge Seabreeze at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Matanzas is facing Seabreeze at the right time seeing as Seabreeze is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Interlachen, they will square off against Crescent City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Interlachen will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Crescent City will have lost four straight heading into Friday's match.
