Preview: Mayville Wildcats vs. Caseville Eagles
Mayville is 10-0 against the Eagles since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mayville Wildcats will be playing at home against the Caseville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Monday, Mayville suffered a rough 52-27 defeat at the hands of the Eagles. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mayville has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Mayville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mason Halsne, who scored seven points, was perhaps the best of all. Halsne continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Caseville had to suffer through a rough 75-43 loss at the hands of the Cardinals.
Mayville dropped their record down to 5-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Caseville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Everything went Mayville's way against the Eagles when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the Wildcats made off with a 62-38 win. Does Mayville have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
