Volleyball Recap: Herrin Falls Despite Big Games from Sydney Mccree and Kylie Wagoner-Smith

Herrin lost against Hamilton County back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foxes.

While Herrin was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-22.

Herrin's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kylie Wagoner-Smith, who had 13 digs, and Sydney McCree, who had six digs and three assists. Addison Stinson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Herrin's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Hamilton County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Herrin and Hamilton County will both be playing Carmi-White County the next time they take the court. The Foxes will head out to face the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
