Baseball Game Preview: Brunswick School Bruins vs. Rye Country Day Wildcats

The Brunswick School Bruins will venture away from home to face off against the Rye Country Day Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Brunswick School is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Salisbury School just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 11-1 to the Crimson Knights.

Brunswick School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maximus Gabelli, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Gabelli's first of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Rye Country Day challenged Columbia Prep on Friday. The Wildcats took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions.

Hank Brown was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

Brunswick School's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Rye Country Day, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.

Brunswick School was able to grind out a solid win over Rye Country Day in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
