Basketball Recap: Kalena Dayley and Andee Petterson Secure Win for Sugar-Salem

Sugar-Salem won the last time they faced Blackfoot and things went their way on Saturday too. The Diggers put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 51-26 win. The Diggers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Sugar-Salem to victory were Andee Petterson and Kalena Dayley. Petterson posted 13 points in addition to six assists and three steals, while Dayley shot 63% from the field en route to 12 points and six rebounds. Petterson is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 40% in the last nine games she's played dating back to last season. Brinley Bradshaw was another key player, putting up seven points and six boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Sugar-Salem was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blackfoot only posted two.

Sugar-Salem's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Blackfoot, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Sugar-Salem is taking a road trip to square off against Snake River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blackfoot, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shelley at 7:30 p.m. on the 16th.
