Softball Game Preview: Irondale Knights vs. East Ridge Raptors

Irondale hasn't had much luck against East Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Knights will head out to square off against the Raptors at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Irondale is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 22nd straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Cretin-Derham Hall, falling 15-3.

Meanwhile, East Ridge fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Stillwater on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Ponies by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Raptors in their meetings with the Ponies: they've now lost five in a row.

Irondale couldn't quite get it done against East Ridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
