On Saturday, Palo Verde faced Liberty in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Palo Verde Panthers took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Patriots. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Ethan Clauss stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Dallimore, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Palo Verde fell to 4-1. As for Liberty, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Palo Verde didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-0 victory against Clark on the 4th. As for Liberty, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Desert Oasis on the 1st.
