Football Recap: Sherman Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sherman can now relate to. They lost 42-20 to the East Hardy Cougars on Friday. The Tide have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Several Tide players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trey Lester, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, Lester is now averaging an impressive 100.4 receiving yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Pauley, who threw for 220 yards and two TDs.

Even if they lost, Sherman's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in East Hardy's side was Dawson Green, who made ten total tackles and snagged an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Sherman's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for East Hardy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Sherman nor East Hardy have any future games scheduled.
